CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime volleyball team dropped a 3-0 non-league decision to Pine Manor on Monday evening by game scores of 25-17, 27-25 and 27-25 at the PMC Fieldhouse.

Freshman Suzanne Marino (Kings Park, N.Y.) recorded 14 kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-5), who also received 10 kills from sophomore Samantha Foley (Forestdale, Mass.) and three kills from junior Victoria Presutti (Marshfield, Mass.).  Freshman Leanne Talbot (Norton, Mass.) notched 17 set assists and three service aces as well for the visitors.

Freshman Jen Gross (Providence, R.I.) notched 12 kills and 23 digs in the triumph for the host Gators, who improve to 1-1 on the season

Massachusetts Maritime opens MASCAC play on Wednesday evening by hosting Bridgewater State in a league outing at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Pine Manor opens Great Northeast Athletic Conference action Tuesday evening by hosting Simmons at the PMC Fieldhouse beginning at 7:00 p.m.
