FINAL:              BRIDGEWATER STATE 5, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0

BRIDGEWATER, Mass.--  Freshman Alana Vincent (Taunton, Mass.) notched her first career hat trick to lead Bridgewater State to a 5-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Swenson Field.

Vincent gave the host Bears (2-2-3, 1-0-1 MASCAC) the only goal they would need just 4:37 into the contest, and she completed her hat trick with respective tallies that came in the 58th and 61st minutes to extend Bridgewater State’s advantage to 3-0.  Senior Marissa Yowell’s (Ashland, Mass.) marker in the 71st minute gave the hosts a four-goal cushion, and sophomore Madeline McNamara (Hull, Mass.) iced the Bears’ triumph with an unassisted tally that came with just over six minutes remaining to account for the final score.

Junior Courtney Pepin (Uxbridge, Mass.) picked up assists on Vincent’s first two goals in the win for Bridgewater State, which also received single helpers from sophomore Taylor Loyd (Halifax, Mass.) and freshman Tess Nagle (Pembroke, Mass.).  Junior Lauren DeSousa (Taunton, Mass.) made one save over the first 70-plus minutes of play to earn the victory in goal for the Bears, while freshman Sara Coffey (Norton, Mass.) made six stops in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (4-3, 0-2 MASCAC), as Bridgewater State accounted for 29 of the 30 shots taken on the afternoon while also holding a 10-3 advantage in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Medford, Mass. on Tuesday evening to take on Fisher in a non-league outing beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State hosts UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match on Thursday evening at Swenson Field that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
