FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 1, SUNY-MARITIME 0

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Madison Taylor’s (Longmeadow, Mass.) goal with 2:07 remaining lifted Massachusetts Maritime to a 1-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over SUNY-Maritime Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Taylor converted feeds from juniors Aoife Callinan (West Falmouth, Mass.) and Mackenzie Wilson (Plymouth, Mass.) on the game-winner for the host Buccaneers (1-2), as she took a cross from the right side and found the back right corner of the net for her second marker of the season.  Senior Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) took care of the rest in goal for Massachusetts Maritime, as she made five saves to record her 11th career shutout.

Freshman Cammie Havens (Point Pleasant, N.J.) made nine stops, including six in the opening 45 minutes of play, in the setback for the visiting Privateers (1-3), as the Buccaneers outshot SUNY-Maritime by a 15-7 margin overall (10-5 on goal).  The hosts took eight of the nine corner kicks in the contest and earned their first win in three series meetings between the two teams, which now stands at 1-1-1 overall.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Daniel Webster in a non-league outing on Monday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while SUNY-Maritime hosts Morrisville State in a non-league match tomorrow afternoon in Throggs Neck, N.Y. that begins at 3:00 p.m.
