BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Kerri Conway (West Springfield, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and two assists for a career-high six points to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 6-2 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Pine Manor Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

The host Buccaneers (2-9) overcame an early 1-0 deficit to even matters in the 12th minute of action on senior Colleen Fissette’s (Dracut, Mass.) penalty kick conversion after a foul in the box, and Conway gave Massachusetts Maritime the lead for good the 34th minute of action after taking a feed from sophomore Lauren Salem (Westfield, Mass.) for her first tally of the night and a 2-1 Buccaneer edge at the break.  Salem extended the hosts’ advantage to 3-1 in the 68th minute by converting a Conway pass, and Massachusetts Maritime extended its lead to 5-1 with a pair of markers that came less than six minutes apart midway through the final 45 minutes of play, as junior Kim Courcy (Warwick, R.I.) collected an unassisted goal in the 73rd minute before freshman Laura Marin (West Yarmouth, Mass.) added her first collegiate score off a Conway feed in the 79th minute.  Senior Alicia Grenier (Swansea, Mass.), who had given the visiting Gators (1-7-1) the early edge after converting a pass from sophomore Tesla Castillo (Boston, Mass.) just 7:44 into the match, added her second marker of the evening with 6:23 remaining off another pass from Castillo, and Conway closed out the scoring for the hosts with 4:32 to play with her second goal of the contest on a feed from junior Janelle Beaulieu (Buzzards Bay, Mass.).

Senior Emily Welsh (Shelton, Conn.) picked up her second win of the season in goal for Massachusetts Maritime by making a single stop for the evening, while sophomore Natasha Kopystynsky (Johnsburg, Ill.) made 24 saves in the setback for Pine Manor as the Buccaneers outshot the Gators by a 49-4 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Worcester, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Worcester State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference match that begins at 1:00 p.m., while Pine Manor hosts Regis in a non-league outing next Thursday, October 20th in Chestnut Hill, Mass. beginning at 4:00 p.m.
