CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Junior Vanessa DiDomenico (Wrentham, Mass.) netted a pair of goals, while freshman Lauren Salem (Westfield, Mass.) added a marker and three assists to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 5-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Pine Manor Wednesday afternoon at Hedley Field.

DiDomenico gave the visiting Buccaneers (3-6) the only goal they would need in the 17th minute of play on a feed from junior Nicole Newell (Plymouth, Mass.) for a 1-0 Massachusetts Maritime advantage at the break, and the Buccaneers broke things open midway through the second half by tallying four times in less than 17 minutes. Junior Kerri Conway (West Springfield, Mass.) lofted a shot from 25 yards out on a pass from Salem in the 61st minute that extended the lead to 2-0, and Salem netted her marker less than seven minutes later on a breakaway that was set up by sophomore Kim Courcy (Warwick, R.I.). Freshman Jaclyn Labrecque (Sutton, Mass.) notched her fourth goal of the season just 2:46 later off a rebound of Salem's original shot, and DiDomenico's second tally of the day on feeds from Salem and Newell in the 78th minute iced the triumph for Massachusetts Maritime, which set a school record for victories in one season in the program's three-year varsity history.

Sophomore Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made six saves in net to pick up her third shutout victory of the season for the Buccaneers, while the tandem of sophomore Colleen Tencza (South Meriden, Conn.) and freshman Natasha Kopystynsky (Johnstown, Ill.) combined for 17 saves in the setback for the host Gators (0-11-1) as Massachusetts Maritime set another school record in outshooting Pine Manor by a 37-8 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Worcester State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference outing on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Pine Manor entertains Suffolk in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match on Saturday afternoon at Hedley Field beginning at Noon.
