BOSTON, Mass. --  Sophomore Julienne McCuish (Mashpee, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and an assist to lead UMass Boston to a 9-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday afternoon at Clark Athletic Field.

Junior Tina Gillen (Carver, Mass.) and sophomore Alex Deware (Needham, Mass.) each scored in the opening 18-plus minutes of action for a 2-0 advantage for the host Beacons (10-3-1), who netted six goals in the final 14-plus minutes before intermission in taking an 8-0 edge at the break.  Gillen and senior Erika Marsters (Mashpee, Mass.) joined McCuish with two goals each for the winners, who also received a goal and an assist from sophomore Samantha Place (Newton, N.J.) as well as three assists from sophomore Molly Kuchar (Asheville, N.C.).  Junior Kimberly Campbell (East Bridgewater, Mass.) tallied as well in the triumph for UMass Boston, which also received single assists from junior Nicki Finamore (Weymouth, Mass.) and sophomores Kristin Mulry (Holbrook, Mass.) and Allyson Lemieux (Hudson, N.H.).

Senior Jessica Penta (Revere, Mass.) picked up the win in goal without making a save for UMass Boston, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made 15 stops in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-13) as the Beacons had 46 of the 47 shots on goal for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Worcester, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Worcester State in a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference outing that begins at 4:00 p.m., while UMass Boston heads to Plymouth, N.H. on Saturday afternoon for a Little East clash with Plymouth State that begins at 1:00 p.m.
