NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --  Freshmen Lindsay Barbolla (Greenwich, N.Y.) and Keisha Devoe (Haverhill, Mass.) each netted a goal and an assist to lead MCLA to a 6-1 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Shewcraft Field.

The host Trailblazers (9-3, 3-1 MASCAC) took control of the contest by scoring three goals in a 4:22 span midway through the opening half of action, as markers by Barbolla and fellow freshman Kasie Harrington (Dalton, Mass.) sandwiched an own goal.  Sophomore Lauren Ford (Voorheesville, N.Y.) extended MCLA's lead to 4-0 at the break with a tally in the 34th minute, and goals by Devoe and freshman Lauren Fender (Plymouth, Mass.) in the 66th and 80th minutes, respectively, closed out the scoring for the hosts, who also received a single assist from junior Harmony McGorman (Orleans, Mass.).  Sophomore Vanessa DiDomenico (Wrentham, Mass.) netted her first goal of the season for the visiting Buccaneers (0-10, 0-4 MASCAC), as her unassisted tally with 2:19 remaining in the match accounted for the final score.

Freshman Kate Tsapatsaris (Peabody, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for MCLA without making a save over the first 45 minutes of action, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) matched her career high with 22 stops in net for Massachusetts Maritime as the Trailblazers outshot the Buccaneers by a 45-3 margin for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Somerville, Mass. on Wednesday evening to take on Suffolk in a non-league outing that begins at 8:30 p.m., while MCLA will be idle until next Saturday afternoon when the Trailblazers host Framingham State in a MASCAC match at Shewcraft Field that begins at 1:00 p.m.
