BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Freshman Megan Gangell (Lee, Mass.) notched a hat trick and a pair of assists for eight points to lead Framingham State to a 7-0 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Gangell's first marker was sandwiched by a pair of goals from freshman Kelly Olsen (Stoneham, Mass.) in the first 7:15 of action that staked the visiting Rams (2-6, 1-1 MASCAC) TO an early 3-0 advantage, and tallies by freshmen Jillian Waters (Orange, Mass.) in the 26th minute and Hannah Jerdee (Marlboro, Mass.) in the 40th minute extended that edge to 5-0 at the break.  Gangell completed her hat trick with a pair of markers in the 47th and 58th minutes, respectively, for the Rams, who also received single helpers from Olsen, senior Katie Jeffery (Attleboro, Mass.), junior Melissa Price (Norwood, Mass.) and freshman Sarah Carey (Fall River, Mass.).

Freshman Kia Minor (Oak Bluffs, Mass.) picked up her second win of the season in goal by making a pair of stops for Framingham State, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made a career-high 22 saves in net in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-7, 0-2 MASCAC) as the Rams had 43 of the 45 shots in the contest.
