BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Senior Lauren Wundt (Southwick, Mass.) netted a hat trick to lift Fitchburg State to a 9-0 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Junior Julie Almstrom (Auburn, Mass.) added a pair of goals and an assist in the triumph for the visiting Falcons (4-9-1, 2-3 MASCAC), who scored four times in a 16-minute span in the opening 45 minutes of play to take a 4-0 advantage at the break.  Junior Ali Landry (Bellingham, Mass.) added a marker and two assists as well for the winners, who also received single goals from senior Meagan Belanger (Belchertown, Mass.), junior Courtney Kimball (Plymouth, Mass.) and freshman Kellsie Reimondo (Portland, Conn.) as well as assists from sophomore Erica Graves (Feeding Hills, Mass.) and freshman Shannon Zononi (Windsor Locks, Conn.).

Senior Emily Swan (Franklin, Mass.) picked up the win in goal without making a save in the first half of play for Fitchburg State, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made 18 stops in net in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-12, 0-5 MASCAC) as the Falcons had 37 of the 38 shots for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Boston, Mass. on Tuesday afternoon for a non-league outing with UMass Boston that begins at 3:30 p.m., while Fitchburg State hosts Wheelock in a non-league match on Tuesday evening in Fitchburg, Mass. beginning at 7:00 p.m.
