BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Alexandra Fernandes (Tucson, Ariz.) and freshman Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, N.Y.) each netted a pair of goals and an assist to lead Becker to a 7-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Senior Catherine Millette (Columbia, Conn.) provided the visiting Hawks (2-1) with the only marker they would need in the 16th minute of action, and goals by Fernandes and Plunkett that came 1:26 apart midway through the opening half staked Becker to a 3-0 advantage at the break.  Plunkett and freshman Felicia Zalik (Oxford, Conn.) tallied in the first 4:07 after intermission to increase the visitors' edge to 5-0, and markers from junior Samantha Sousa (Pawtucket, R.I.) in the 56th minute and Fernandes in the 73rd minute closed out the scoring for the Hawks, who also received single assists from Millette, senior Alyssa Alves (Acushnet, Mass.) and sophomore Morgan Hazen (Woodstock, Vt.).

Senior Shannon Tibbetts (Warren, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Becker with a seven-save effort, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made 11 stops in net in the setback for the host Buccaneers (0-2) as the Hawks outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 21-14 margin for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Lesley in a non-league outing on Saturday morning at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 11:00 a.m., while Becker hosts Lyndon State in a non-league match on Sunday afternoon in Leicester, Mass. beginning at 1:00 p.m.
