BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Taylor Ezold (Westfield, Mass.) rapped out five hits, including a pair of homers, and drove in six runs to lead Framingham State to a sweep of a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference softball doubleheader from Massachusetts Maritime by scores of 17-0 in the opener and 22-1 in the nightcap in a pair of five inning games played Friday afternoon at Alison Rollins Field.

Freshman Tiffany Agostini (Rehoboth, Mass.) added six hits, including four in the nightcap, while driving in five runs for the visiting Rams (9-11, 2-0 MASCAC), who collected 39 total hits on the day, including 11 for extra bases.  Senior Alysia Morrissette (Ware, Mass.) chipped in with four hits and five RBI for Framingham State, which also received four hits and four RBI from sophomore Alyssa Begin (Salem, Mass.) as well as three hits and three RBI from sophomore Molly McKinnon (Framingham, Mass.).  Sophomore Kyle Fortin (Candia, N.H.) added four hits for the winners, who also received three hits each from senior Alyssa Shea (Lakeville, Mass.) and sophomore Jalesia Rookard (Cambridge, Mass.).  Faria picked up the opening game win with a two-hit shutout that included eight strikeouts for the Rams, while Morrissette earned the nightcap triumph by allowing an unearned run and fanning six.

Junior Janelle Beaulieu (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) and freshman Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) each rapped out two hits on the day for the host Buccaneers (2-12, 0-4 MASCAC), as freshman Meghan O’Brien (Southampton, Mass.) scored the lone Massachusetts Maritime run of the day on a fifth inning fielder’s choice in the second contest.  Beaulieu and sophomore Jennifer March (Pawtucket, R.I.) tossed complete-game efforts on the day for the hosts.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Boston to take on Emmanuel in a non-league contest on Tuesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State hosts Bridgewater State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference twinbill on Saturday afternoon in Framingham, Mass. beginning at Noon.
