LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Massachusetts Maritime Academy Sailing Team finished in 7^th place as they competed in the 2018 Port of Los Angeles Harbor Cup this weekend.  The U.S. Naval Academy finished first followed by the University of South Florida, University of California at Santa Barbara, California Maritime Academy, College of Charleston and Ireland.  Massachusetts Maritime Academy finished ahead of University of California, University of Hawaii and Maine Maritime Academy out of the 10-team competition.  The MMA team consisted of Frank Reeg '19, Bogdan Shcherbyna '19, Colin English '21, Evan Bowen '19, Alexander Bowen '20, Christopher Dawson '18, Matthew Schaefer '19, McKenna Jarvis '18 and Megan Laurie '20.  The MMA Offshore Sailing Team is led by Head Coach Twice Tougas.  The MMA Offshore Sailing Team will next compete for the Vietor Trophy at the Coast Guard Academy March 17-18.
