Men’s Cross Country Finished Second at Fuller Invitational

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – Maritime cross country hosted the 14th annual Travis J. Fuller Invitational on Friday afternoon in rainy conditions on the Cape Cod Canal trail. Though no runner finished in the top three for the Buccaneers, the team took second place in the five mile race.

Navy Prep's Ian Bartlett took the gold medal for the men with a time of 28:26, a pace of 5:42 per mile. Navy Prep also claimed the silver medal individually with Jacob Hilton finishing 18 seconds behind his teammate at 28:44. Dena College's Ryan Glynn claimed the bronze medal with a final time of 29:18. Maritime's best finisher finished in fourth place as Kyle Hanson (North Chelmsford, Mass) posted a time of 29:26 seconds. Maritime also claimed ninth and tenth place with Zach Ferreira (Stoughton, Mass) and Alex Imperillo (Chelmsford, Mass) finishing in tenth.

Navy Prep claimed the championship with five runners finishing in the top ten. Maritime's fourth, ninth and 10th place finishes were good enough to get them a second place finish in the meet. Dean College finished in third place out of the five teams that competed.

Maritime cross country will travel to Westfield State University on Saturday, October 6th to run in the Joseph Early Invitational.
