WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass.-- The Massachusetts Maritime men's cross country team closed out the 2008 campaign on Saturday morning by placing 26th of 49 teams competing at the 2008 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championships hosted by Williams College at Mount Greylock High School.

Senior Kyle Ingersoll (Wakefield, Mass.) closed out his stellar career by placing 138th individually for the Buccaneers, covering the 8K layout in a time of 29:08, while sophomores Paul Matz (Plainville, Mass.) and Patrick Dannaher (Arlington, Va.) were next in 160th and 167th place, respectively, with times of 29:33.7 and 29:40.8. Junior Matthew Sturgis (Cummaquid, Mass.) and freshman Jonathan Quigley (Braintree, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Massachusetts Maritime by finishing 183rd and 196th, respectively, with times of 30:00.8 and 30:19.4.

The Buccaneers placed fourth among MASCAC entrants in the competition, as host Williams took the regional title, with fellow NESCAC foes Amherst and Trinity next in second and third places, respectively.

Massachusetts Maritime finished fourth at both the MASCAC and New England Alliance Championships under Head Coach Chris Ryan this fall.
