Pruchnik Named As MASCAC Men's Soccer Player Of The Week

Massachusetts Maritime junior goalkeeper Mike Pruchnik was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for his efforts in a pair of matches for the Buccaneers last week.

 

Pruchnik, a native of Rochester, Mass. and a graduate of Old Rochester Regional High School, stopped 16 of the 17 shots he faced in 135 minutes of action on the week, as he recorded his first career shutout with 10 saves in last Saturday’s 1-0 MASCAC victory at Worcester State.  Mike added six second half stops in a 5-3 setback at Nichols last Wednesday afternoon, and on the season he sports a 2-0 record with an 0.33 goals against average to go with 21 saves for a .955 saves percentage.

 

Massachusetts Maritime, which stands at 3-2 overall in the early going, returns home on Wednesday evening when Head Coach Greg Perry’s Buccaneers host Anna Maria in a non-league clash at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
