Mills, Rabesa, Young And Robbs Earn Respective Spots On 2012 MASCAC Men's Soccer All-Conference Team

Buzzards Bay, Mass. --  Four members of the Massachusetts Maritime men’s soccer team have earned spots on the 2012 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer all-conference squad that was announced earlier today by the league office.

Senior Adam Rabesa (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) and junior Asa Mills (Westport, Mass./Bishop Stang) earned first team all-MASCAC accolades for the Buccaneers as backs, as the duo anchored a defensive unit that allowed just 1.17 goals per contest.  Mills, who earned first team all-conference honors for a second straight season, started all 17 matches this fall while adding a goal on offense, while Rabesa chipped in with an assist while also starting all 17 contests.

Senior Brett Young (Falmouth, Mass./Falmouth) and sophomore Rob Robbs (Braintree, Mass./Braintree) earned second team all-MASCAC honors for their performances in goal and at the midfield spot, respectively, for Massachusetts Maritime in 2012.  Young ranked second in the conference with a 1.07 goals against average, as he made 64 saves in 15 contests with five shutouts, while Robbs collected a goal and an assist for three points in 17 starts in the middle for the Buccaneers.

Massachusetts Maritime notched six victories and a pair of ties in Head Coach Greg Perry’s 20th season this fall, as the Buccaneers narrowly missed out on a conference playoff berth.  All six of Massachusetts Maritime’s triumphs came via shutout, as Perry’s crew suffered four one-goal setbacks along the way.
