CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  Senior Jonathan Jones Takano (Tokyo, Japan) converted a corner kick with 1:07 remaining in regulation to lift Lesley to a 1-1 non-league college men’s soccer double overtime draw with Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Edward Field.

Takano took freshman Ryan Richardson’s (Santa Barbara, Calif.) corner for his first goal of the season to equalize matters for the host Lynx (0-1-2), as junior Hieu Nguyen (Weymouth, Mass.) had staked the visiting Buccaneers (2-0-1) to an early advantage with his third marker in as many matches on the year after taking a feed from senior Derek Young.  Massachusetts Maritime had the only three chances to score in the extra sessions, all of which came in the opening three minutes of the first overtime period.

Junior Nathan Trucks (Guilford, Conn.) made five saves over the final 65 minutes of action in goal for Lesley, including a pair of stops in overtime, while senior Nigel Leahy (New Paltz, N.Y.) made one first half save for the hosts.  Senior Brett Young (Falmouth, Mass.) recorded three stops in net in the draw for Massachusetts Maritime, as the Buccaneers outshot the Lynx by an 11-9 margin for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Boston on Wednesday evening to take on Wentworth in a non-league outing that begins at 7:00 p.m., while Lesley hosts Maine-Farmington in a non-league match on Sunday afternoon at Edward Field beginning at 3:30 p.m.
