BOSTON, Mass. --  Junior Jon White's (Lynnfield, Mass.) goal with 9:20 remaining in regulation enabled Massachusetts Maritime to forge a 1-1 double overtime tie with UMass Boston in the non-league college men's soccer season finale for both squads Monday afternoon at the Clark Athletic Field.

White converted a feed from freshman Tim McDonough (Framingham, Mass.) on the equalizer for the visiting Buccaneers, who finish the season at 7-8-2 overall, as the tally was his first of the fall.  Graduate student Rich Stone (Quincy, Mass.) had given the host Beacons, who finish the year at 4-11-2, the lead in the 69th minute when he converted a pass from freshman Ian Ferrari (Mashpee, Mass.), setting up White's heroics.

Freshman Patrick Slaney (Northbridge, Mass.) made a career-high 16 saves in goal for Massachusetts Maritime, including five in the two overtime periods combined, while senior Domenick Persuitte (West Barnstable, Mass.) made eight stops in net for UMass Boston as the Beacons outshot the Buccaneers by a 25-14 margin, including a 6-5 edge in the extra sessions.

Massachusetts Maritime posted its highest win total in five seasons this fall under 17th-year Head Coach Greg Perry.
