FRAMINGHAM, Mass. -- Junior Scott Faria's (Fall River, Mass.) goal seven minutes into play held up as the game-winner and lifted Framingham State to a 1-0 Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference men's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Maple Street Field.
Faria converted a feed from junior Brunno Goncalves (Framingham, Mass.) on the lone tally for the host Rams (2-6, 1-1 MASCAC), and junior Greg Halle (Beverly, Mass.) made that stand up in goal with five saves in recording the shutout triumph. Sophomore Mark Mullaney (Bridgewater, Mass.) made a career-high 11 saves in the setback in net for the visiting Buccaneers (3-3-1, 0-2 MASCAC), as Framingham State outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 21-12 margin for the contest.
Massachusetts Maritime heads to Paxton, Mass. on Thursday afternoon for a non-league outing with Anna Maria that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Framingham State travels to Providence, R.I. on Wednesday evening for a non-league match with Rhode Island College that begins at 6:00 p.m.
