Bucs Wrap Season with 4-0 Loss to Worcester

Worcester State (10-6-2) broke the match open in the second half with three goals dealing the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buccaneers (2-14-1) a 4-0 defeat in their final game of the season.

The Lancers scored their first goal with just 38 seconds left in the opening half to take a 1-0 lead into the break. Miguel Vidal (Grafton) tallied at the end of the first and then hit his second of the match in the 58th minute of the second. Josh Richard (Westminster), assisted by Brian Andrade (Hudson) scored the third Worcester goal, with Eder Baptista (Pawtucket, RI) finishing the afternoons work for the Lancers. Baptista also assisted on Vidals first goal.

MMA opened with a good scoring chance on a cross from Peter Tomdio (Douala. Cameroon) to John VanDolson (Brimfield). Tim Meighan (E. Bridgewater) was in goal for the Buccaneers making seven saves. Daniel Hanson (Worcester) handled the keeping duties for the Lancers stopping five shots.

Andrade, Baptista and Matt Brothers (Auburn) did a nice job up front for the Lancers moving the ball at a brisk pace and keeping the pressure on the MMA defense. Tomdio, Paul Mullis (Marshfield), and Tim Vincent (Pembroke) worked well together up front for the Bucs creating scoring chances, but couldnt get the ball past Hanson.
