Men's Lacrosse Faces Challenging 17-Match Schedule In Deegan's Inaugural Campaign This Spring

Massachusetts Maritime will have a new look in men’s lacrosse for the 2011 season, and the Buccaneers will face a challenging 17-match schedule under the tutelage of first year Head Coach Rory Deegan this spring.

Deegan, who served as the squad’s assistant coach in each of the last two years, will make his head collegiate coaching debut on the sidelines on Tuesday, March 15th when Massachusetts Maritime travels up to Boston to take on Wentworth in a non-league encounter that begins at 7:00 p.m. EST.  The Buccaneers open their home slate on Tuesday, March 22nd by entertaining Plymouth State in a non-league outing at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 4:00 p.m. EDT, and Deegan’s crew begins Pilgrim Lacrosse League action on Saturday, April 2nd with a trip to Norton, Mass. to take on Wheaton at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Massachusetts Maritime will play a total of seven matches at home this spring, including tilts with Plymouth State, Becker, MIT, Clark, Wheelock, Regis and Babson.  The Buccaneers will play eight of their first 10 contests away from the friendly confines of Clean Harbors Stadium, including a neutral site date with Maine Maritime in the Admiral’s Cup clash in Portland, Maine on Saturday, March 26th.
