BOSTON, Mass. -- Junior Connor Burke (Del Mar, Calif.) netted the game-winner with 1:56 remaining to complete a hat trick as Massachusetts Maritime rallied from a two-goal deficit in the final 5:37 of play to post an 11-10 non-league college men's lacrosse victory over UMass Boston Thursday afternoon at Clark Field.

The visiting Buccaneers (7-6) snapped a 3-3 second quarter tie by scoring the final three goals before intermission, including a pair of the stick of sophomore Ryan Linn (Bourne, Mass.), to take a 6-3 advantage at the break, but the host Beacons (2-11) tallied five of the six markers in the third stanza (four on man-up situations), including a hat trick off the stick of sophomore John Canty (Milton, Mass.), to take an 8-7 edge into the final quarter of play. Senior Kevin Schultz's (Crofton, Md.) goal 2:15 into the stanza enabled Massachusetts Maritime to tie the score, but goals by junior Aaron Pollock (Belmont, Mass.) and senior Peter Kovach (Cohasset, Mass.) in just 47 seconds gave UMass Boston its final lead of the day at 10-9 with 7:51 to play. Markers by Burke and sophomore Craig Nichols (Marshfield, Mass.) in a 2:21 span lifted the visitors into the final tie of the afternoon, setting up Burke's game-winning heroics for the Buccaneers.

Schultz and Connor Burke each notched a hat trick and an assist for four points in the win for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received single tallies off the sticks of sophomore Jake Bickley (Wilbraham, Mass.) and freshman Will Doucette (Manchester, Mass.). Linn notched an assist to go with his two goals to finish with three points for the Buccaneers, who also received single helpers from senior Dan O'Brien (Weymouth, Mass.), junior Brian Burke (Del Mar, Calif.) and sophomore Michael Lambros (Forestdale, Mass.).

Junior Al Craven (Milton, Mass.) netted a pair of goals and an assist for the Beacons, who also received a goal from freshman Eric Collins (Somerville, Mass.) and assists from senior Rocco Dabecco (South Park, Pa.) and junior Dale Nunn (Hillsborough, N.J.).
