THROGGS NECK, N.Y. -- Senior Keith Fricke (White Plains, N.Y.) netted four goals and an assist for five points to lead New York Maritime to a 21-7 non-league college men's lacrosse victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday evening at Rheinhardt Field.

The match renewed a longstanding rivalry between the two Maritime institutions, who will now play for the "Maritime Cup" each season that will be awarded to the winning team.

The host Privateers (5-2) jumped out to a 6-4 advantage after 15 minutes of play and broke the contest open with seven unanswered goals in the second stanza, including a hat trick off the stick of senior Rob Lenseth (Yorktown, N.Y.), to take a 13-4 edge at the break. New York Maritime iced its triumph with six third quarter tallies en route to its third win in the last four outings, as the hosts received four goals from Lenseth and a hat trick from sophomore Alex Korb (Islip, N.Y.).

Senior Kevin Schultz (Crofton, Md.) netted a hat trick in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (2-2), who also received a pair of goals and an assist from junior Brian Burke (Del Mar, Calif.). Junior Connor Burke (Del Mar, Calif.) and sophomore Jake Bickley (Wilbraham, Mass.) also added tallies for the visitors, who received an assist from senior John Herman (Stamford, Conn.).

Junior Colin Gallagher (Syracuse, N.Y.) picked up the win in goal for New York Maritime with a nine-save effort over the first half of action, while junior James Hitchings (Dover, Mass.) made seven first half stops for Massachusetts Maritime as the Privateers outshot the Buccaneers by a 50-46 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime opens Pilgrim Lacrosse League play on Saturday afternoon by hosting Babson at Commander Ellis Field beginning at 1:00 p.m., while New York Maritime travels to Ithaca, N.Y. for a non-league outing with Ithaca that also begins at 1:00 p.m.
