LEICESTER, Mass. -- Sophomore Jake Bickley (Wilbraham, Mass.) netted four goals, while senior Kevin Schultz (Crofton, Md.) added a hat trick to lift Massachusetts Maritime to a 15-6 non-league college men's lacrosse victory over Becker Thursday evening at Alumni Field.

The visiting Buccaneers (4-4) matched their overall win total of last season and ended a two-match slide by netting five unanswered markers in the second quarter to take a 7-1 advantage at the break, as Bickley and Schultz each tallied twice in the opening 30 minutes of play. Each squad netted three goals in the third stanza for a 10-4 margin heading into the final quarter of action, and after the host Hawks (6-2), who saw their six-match winning streak come to an end, closed to within 12-6 on junior Josh Fask's (Worcester, Mass.) goal with 6:12 remaining, Massachusetts Maritime scored the final three markers of the evening by Bickley, senior John Herman (Stamford, Conn.) and sophomore Craig Nichols (Marshfield, Mass.) in a 1:36 span to account for the final score.

Herman and freshman Will Doucette (Manchester, Mass.) each scored twice and added an assist for three points in the triumph for the Buccaneers, who also received two goals from Nichols as well as single markers off the sticks of junior Brian Burke (Del Mar, Calif.) and freshman Peter Menard (Somerset, Mass.). Sophomore Ryan Linn (Bourne, Mass.) notched three assists for the winners, who also received a helper from senior Dan O'Brien (Weymouth, Mass.).

Fask and freshman Jon Nessen (Levittown, Pa.) each netted two goals in the setback for Becker, which also received a goal and an assist each from juniors Aaron Fill (Ladner, B.C.) and Tony Helias (St. Albans, Vt.) and a single assist from freshman Alec Abrahamson (Dedham, Mass.).

Junior James Hitchings (Dover, Mass.) recorded his fourth victory of the season in goal for Massachusetts Maritime with an eight-save effort, while senior Peter Fellows (Boylston, Mass.) made 10 stops in net for Becker as the Buccaneers outshot the Hawks by a 41-25 margin for the match.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Springfield, Mass. on Saturday afternoon for a Pilgrim Lacrosse League match-up with Springfield that begins at Noon, while Becker travels to Nashua, N.H. on Saturday afternoon for a non-league match with Daniel Webster that also begins at Noon.
