Crew Squads Post Solid Performances Against All Divisions At Textile River Regatta

LOWELL, Mass. --  Both Massachusetts Maritime crew squads posted solid results against competition from all divisions at the Textile River Regatta that took place on Sunday afternoon on the Merrimack River.

 

The Buccaneer men’s varsity four consisting of freshman coxswain Scott Jones (Lebanon, N.H.), senior Anthony Bratica (Milford, Mass.), sophomore Timothy O’Neill (Block Island, R.I.) and freshmen Edward Dunn (Acton, Mass.) and Sean Cunningham (Hingham, Mass.) posted a time of 25:59.44 to finish 12th overall in the event, which was won by Colby.

 

Massachusetts Maritime’s women’s varsity four consisting of senior coxswain James Lucenta (Yorktown, Va.), seniors Rochelle Gaudette (Fall River, Mass.) and Colleen LeFavor (Mashpee, Mass.), sophomore Olivia Swenson (Centerville, Mass.) and freshman Paige Decker (Nantucket, Mass.) posted a time of 36:25.03 to finish 14th overall in the field, as Bowdoin claimed the top spot in the final standings.

 

Both Buccaneer squads return to action on Saturday, October 15th by heading to Worcester, Mass. to compete in the Quinsigamond Snake Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond that begins at 9:00 a.m.
