Bio

Chris Slattery became the head men's cross country coach ahead of the 2015 season after being an assistant for two seasons. Coach Slattery came to the Academy in 2001.

Slattery has mentored all-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference performer Jake MacVarish '17 and has back-to-back top three finished in the Travis J. Fuller Invitational from 2018-2019.

Slattery serves in the full-time role of Chief of Massachusetts Maritime’s Department of Public Safety. A two-sport standout at Suffolk University, he comes from a family of cross country coaches, as his wife, Meg, served as a Buccaneer assistant under longtime mentor Chris Ryan prior to taking her current role as head cross country coach at Plymouth South High School.

At Suffolk, Slattery was named to the 1988 Cape Cod Baseball League All-Star Team and to the 1988 All-New England baseball squad.
