Klangos, Ethier Each Notch Double-Double Efforts As Volleyball Drops 3-1 Decision At Becker

LEICESTER, Mass. --  Senior Samantha Caouette (Montague, Mass.) registered 13 kills to lead Becker to a 3-1 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday evening by game scores of 27-25, 25-16, 21-25 and 25-17 in a match played at Leicester Gymnasium.

Freshman Kayla Dupree (North Bergen, N.J.) added 10 kills, eight digs and seven service aces in the triumph for the host Hawks (4-5), who bested the visiting Buccaneers (1-8) for the second time this season.  Junior Marissa Turner (Coventry, R.I.) collected 11 digs, nine kills and four service aces for Becker, which also received 28 set assists from sophomore Charlene Landry (Gorham, Maine) and 16 digs from freshman Brittney Bullis (Stafford, Va.).

Senior Charleen Klangos (Lowell, Mass.) notched a double-double effort of 10 kills and 10 digs in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received five kills, five digs and three service aces from senior Emily Calnan (Hingham, Mass.).  Junior Stephanie O’Connor (Westwood, Mass.) registered 11 digs, three kills and a pair of service aces for the Buccaneers, who also received a double-double effort of 17 digs, 15 set assists and two service aces from junior Emma Ethier (Norton, Mass.) to go with five service aces from freshman Kaleigh Hoffman (Noblesville, Ind.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Pine Manor in a non-league outing on Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Becker heads to North Dartmouth, Mass. on Thursday evening to square off with UMass Dartmouth in a non-league match that also begins at 7:00 p.m.
