Buccaneers Come Up Short To Eastern Nazarene

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. - Eastern Nazarene struck in the 12th minute of Monday night's Women's soccer match and built their lead to 4-1 by the half on the way to a 9-2 victory over Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Kyndall Fry (Tampa, Fla./Brooks DeBartolo) got things going for the Lions followed by goals by Kennedy Dowling (Nashua N.H./Nashua South) and Diamond Best (Danvers, Mass./Miss Hall's School) before the Buccaneers answered with a goal in the 39th minute by Madison Taylor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) off a pass from Anna Deeley (Marston's Mills, Mass/Barnstable).

Sam Bernardi (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) scored four times in the second half for the Lions as Eastern Nazarene put the match out of reach.

Taylor scored her second goal of the night for the Buccaneers in the 88th minute on a long feed from Jessica Baldassini (Middleboro, Mass./Middleboro).

The Lions outshots the Buccaneers 38-10 with a 10-2 advantage in corner kicks. Mikayla Houlihan (Middleboro, Mass./Middleboro) finished the night with 11 saves for the Buccaneers, while Sarah Moschini (Upton, Mass./Whitinsville Christian) stopped four Massachusetts Maritime shots.

The Buccaneers (0-2) are on the road at Dean College on Thursday at 3:30 PM, while the Lions (2-2) head for Curry College Thursday for a 6:30 PM match.
