Women's Soccer Readies For Fall Campaign

The women's soccer squad kicks off the fall on Thursday, September 6, when they will host Eastern Nazarene at Clean Harbors Stadium at 7 PM. The Buccaneers expect to be solid this year with 14 returning players, nine of whom started most of last season. Last year's scoring leader, senior captain Madison Taylor, who started every game, finishing with 18 goals and an assist, is back this fall, and the Buccaneer coaching staff is expecting a strong performance from junior Emma McNally once again in the defensive backfield.

Massachusetts Maritime lost four seniors to graduation, but have filled those spots with four promising freshman, including Rachel Demmer, who is expected to give a boost to the Buccaneer backfield. Junior Sara Coffey, who started 13 matches last fall is back in goal for the Buccaneers and will be backed up by sophomore Mikayla Houlihan.

The Buccaneers will play their second home game on Saturday, September 8, when they will host Maine Maritime at 1 PM at Clean Harbors Stadium. Massachusetts Maritime will then hit the road for a pair of games with Dean College and Fitchburg State, before returning to their Taylor Point campus to host Newbury College and Salem State. The team takes to the road traveling to Milton for a match with Curry College, returns home to host Becker and then wraps up the month of September in western Massachusetts at MCLA.

October opens with a string of three matches at Clean Harbors Stadium as Anna Maria, Westfield State and Framingham State come to town. The Buc's then play a pair on the road at Rhode Island College and Bridgewater State, before wrapping up the regular season at home with matches against Suffolk University and Worcester State.

The Massachusetts Maritime women's soccer team will be playing their first Alumni Game at Clean Harbors Stadium on September 16 during Homecoming weekend beginning at 11 AM.
