FINAL:              MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 7, ANNA MARIA 0

PAXTON, Mass. --  Junior Madison Taylor (Longmeadow, Mass.) tied the school single-game record with four goals to lead Massachusetts Maritime to a 7-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Anna Maria Tuesday evening at Amcat Field.

Taylor gave the visiting Buccaneers (2-3) the only goal they would need just 9:09 into the contest, and markers by senior Stephanie Hunt (Brookfield, Conn.) and sophomore Kristen Shanley (Marshfield, Mass.) in the 33rd and 43rd minutes of play, respectively, gave Massachusetts Maritime a 3-0 advantage at the break.  Hunt’s second goal of the night just 57 seconds after intermission extended that margin to 4-0, and Taylor completed her record setting performance with three tallies in just under 11 minutes (including her second and third goals of the match that came 54 seconds apart) to account for the final margin.  Taylor’s effort tied the school mark first set by Vanessa DiDomenico against Wheelock in 2011, as the visitors also tied the team single-game record for goals, which had been done on four previous occasions.

Sophomore Cammi Balentine (Haverhill, Mass.) set up Shanley’s first marker in a Buccaneer uniform, as sophomore Sara Coffey (Norton, Mass.) earned her second win and first shutout of the season without having to make a save.  Sophomore Gabriella Eldredge (West Boylston, Mass.) made nine stops in net in the setback for the host Amcats (0-5), as Massachusetts Maritime outshot Anna Maria by a 24-4 margin overall and each team took five corner kicks on the night.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to Salem, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Salem State in a Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference clash that begins at 3:00 p.m., while Anna Maria hosts Lasell in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference match on Thursday afternoon at Amcat Field beginning at 4:00 p.m.
