FINAL:              FRAMINGHAM STATE 2, MASSACHUSETTS MARITIME 0

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  First half goals by sophomore Kayla Almstrom (Auburn, Mass.) and freshman Erin Angelillo (Southington, Conn.) lifted Framingham State to a 2-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Sunday morning at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Angelillo gave the visiting Rams (6-9, 3-3 MASCAC) the only tally they would need 12:52 into the match when she tapped in a deflected pass off the crossbar from senior Angela Pallotta (Sterling, Mass.) for her first collegiate goal, and Almstrom provided an insurance marker (her team-leading fourth of the season) less than eight minutes later on another Pallotta feed to account for the final margin.

Sophomore Keyonzia Gagne-Lamoureux (East Brookfield, Mass.) made one save to record her sixth win and fourth shutout of the season in goal for Framingham State, which clinched a spot in the upcoming conference tournament with the triumph.  Freshman Sara Coffey (Norton, Mass.) made eight stops in the setback for the host Buccaneers (5-8-1, 0-6 MASCAC), as the Rams outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 21-3 margin overall (10-1 on goal) and held a 7-2 edge in corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Suffolk in a non-league outing on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Framingham State entertains Lasell in a non-league match on Wednesday afternoon in Framingham, Mass. that begins at 4:00 p.m.
