BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Junior Sarah Hills (Brooklyn, N.Y.) netted a pair of goals to lead Coast Guard to a 3-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Hills gave the visiting Bears, who are off to the best start in school history at 4-1-1 overall, the only goal they would need 8:39 into the contest with an unassisted tally before adding her second of the night (and third of the season) in the 53rd minute on a feed from senior Liz Runci (Duxbury, Mass.).  Sophomore Terry Netusil (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) closed out Coast Guard’s scoring in the 61st minute with her second marker of the season from the left side of the box, and senior Holly Moore (Pittsfield, Mass.) made that stand up in net for the visitors, as she made one save to earn her fourth win and third shutout of the year.

Junior Katie Levesque (Wilmot, N.H.) made 10 stops in goal in the setback for the host Buccaneers (1-3-1), as the Bears outshot Massachusetts Maritime by an 18-2 margin (13-1 on goal) while taking three of the four corner kicks for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Salem, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to take on Salem State in the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both squads beginning at 2:30 p.m., while Coast Guard travels to Springfield, Mass. on Saturday afternoon to square off with Springfield in a New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference match that also begins at 2:30 p.m.
