NORTH ADAMS, Mass. --  Goals by junior Brianna Bresett (Adams, Mass.) and sophomore Christina Klich (Southampton, Mass.) lifted MCLA to a 2-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Saturday afternoon at Shewcraft Field.

Bresett converted a pass from senior Lauren Ford (Voorheesville, N.Y.) with just 2:27 remaining in the opening half to stake the host Trailblazers (3-5-1, 1-1-1 MASCAC) to a 1-0 edge, and Klich took a feed from senior Jackie Nash (Norton, Mass.) with just over five minutes remaining in the contest to ice the triumph.  Senior Jen Wehner (Cooperstown, N.Y.) picked up the victory in goal for MCLA with one first half save, while sophomore Danielle Heinsohn (Norfolk, Mass.) was not called upon to make a stop over the final 45 minutes of action.

Senior Emily Welsh (Shelton, Conn.) made eight saves, all of which came in the opening half of play, in the setback in goal for the visiting Buccaneers (1-7, 0-3 MASCAC), as the Trailblazers outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 23-4 margin for the contest, including a 16-3 first half advantage.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Curry in a non-league outing on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 7:00 p.m., while MCLA travels to Springfield, Mass. on Tuesday afternoon to take on Western New England in a non-league match that begins at 4:00 p.m.
