SOMERVILLE, Mass. --  Sophomore Leslie Hayden (Ross, Calif.) matched her career-high with six goals to lead Suffolk to a 9-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday evening at Dilboy Stadium.

Hayden netted a hat trick that sandwiched a marker by freshman Kelsey Cavaretta (Marcellus, N.Y.) in the first 38 minutes to action that staked the host Rams (3-6-2) to a 4-0 advantage at the break, as Suffolk extended that margin to 6-0 in the 57th minute on tallies by Hayden and junior Marie Andre Trombetta (Guatemala City, Guatemala) that came 43 seconds apart.  Hayden added a pair of goals in the 70th and 82nd minutes that sandwiched an own goal to close out the scoring for the hosts, who received a pair of assists from Cavaretta as well as single helpers from junior Janet Giradot (Redwood City, Calif.), sophomore Gina Dean (Revere, Mass.) and freshman Erika Ciccariello (Billerica, Mass.).

Junior Emily Joyce (Easton, Mass.) made a pair of saves to pick up the shutout victory in goal for Suffolk, while freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made 20 stops in net in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-11) as the Rams had 46 of the 49 shots for the contest.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Fitchburg State in a Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference match on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Suffolk travels across town to take on Emerson in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference outing on Saturday afternoon at Rotch Field that begins at 12:30 p.m.
