BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. --  Sophomore Beth Deegan (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored a pair of goals, while fellow sophomore Alicia Grenier (Swansea, Mass.) added a goal and two assists to lead Pine Manor to a 4-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Monday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium.

Markers by Deegan and freshman Amanda Smalley (Maple Shade, N.J.) that came just 23 seconds apart midway through the first half staked the visiting Gators (2-3-1) to an early 2-0 advantage, and Grenier's tally in the 38th minute on a feed from sophomore Christina Santos (Pawtucket, R.I.) extended that margin to 3-0 at the break.  Deegan closed out the Pine Manor scoring in the 76th minute when she scored off a Grenier corner, and freshman Colleen Tencza (South Meriden, Conn.) made that stand up in goal for the visitors by making six saves to pick up the shutout triumph.

Freshman Rachel Johnson (South Chatham, Mass.) made 11 stops in net in the setback for the host Buccaneers, as Pine Manor outshot Massachusetts Maritime by a 21-11 margin in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Framingham State in a MASCAC match on Friday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m., while Pine Manor hosts Norwich in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference outing on Wednesday afternoon in Chestnut Hill, Mass. beginning at 4:00 p.m.
