BUZZARDS BAY, Mass.-- Three first half goals, including two that were set up by junior Stacy Leonard (Rockland, Mass.), lifted UMass Boston to a 4-0 non-league college women's soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Wednesday afternoon at Commander Ellis Field.

Freshman Brianna Cavanaugh (Belchertown, Mass.) gave the visiting Beacons (6-9-1) the only goal they would need 11:51 into the contest on a feed from Leonard, and fellow freshman Kristin Mulry (Holbrook, Mass.) extended that margin to 2-0 in the 29th minute on assists from Leonard and junior Kristi Morales (San Francisco, Calif.) for her 12th tally of the season. Senior Katherine Wall's (Arlington, Mass.) direct kick conversion in the 38th minute gave the visitors a 3-0 edge at the break, and an own goal off a corner kick in the 61st minute capped the UMass Boston scoring.

Junior Courtney Haroules (Littleton, Mass.) and sophomore Ashley McRoberts (Merrimack, N.H.) combined on the shutout in goal for the Beacons by making one save each, while freshman Colleen Fissette (Dracut, Mass.) made seven stops in net for the host Buccaneers (2-9) as UMass Boston outshot Massachusetts Maritime by an 18-2 margin.

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Worcester State in a MASCAC outing on Saturday morning at Commander Ellis Field beginning at 10:00 a.m., while UMass Boston hosts Keene State in a Little East match on Saturday afternoon in Boston beginning at 1:00 p.m.
