Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.

Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.

Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament a Day to Remember

The third annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament was a delightful culmination to a record-setting spring for female Buccaneer athletes. Entergy Plymouth Station and C&W Services made the day possible and the generosity of sponsors, donors, and alumni was celebrated during the evening’s dinner at Cummaquid Golf Club.

Record-Breaking Sullivan Named Rookie of the Year, Hunt Honored

The 2018 women’s lacrosse season has seen one Massachusetts Maritime Academy record after another fall and, with the announcement of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference season awards, a final historic moment was achieved. For the first time in history, a Buccaneer has been named to a major conference award, as Casey Sullivan claimed Rookie of the Year honors. She was joined on the All-MASCAC Second Team by Stephanie Hunt, the first time the Academy has been tabbed twice on the list.

Sullivan First Buc to Net Fifty as Season Concludes

Casey Sullivan became the first player in Massachusetts Maritime Academy women’s lacrosse history to score 50 goals as part of a four goal run in the second half, but the comeback bid was not enough to overcome a 12-4 halftime deficit and the season ended with a 19-9 loss to Framingham State University, who lost only two games all year.

Correia Excels in Tough MASCAC Defeat

A series of fouls and yellow cards allowed Fitchburg State University to outscore Massachusetts Maritime Academy 7-2 in the second half and defeat the Buccaneers 9-4 in the last women’s lacrosse game of 2018 in Clean Harbors Stadium. In the loss, seniors Mikayla Correia and Stephanie Hunt played their final home contests of illustrious four-year careers.

Record-Setting Sullivan Earns MASCAC Rookie of the Week

On Friday night, there was a changing of the guard as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s women’s lacrosse team celebrated its seniors, bidding farewell to its all-time offensive leader, Stephanie Hunt. In the ensuing 18-4 win over MCLA, however, it was freshman Casey Sullivan who staked her claim as the next goal-scoring leader of the Buccaneers and today, she was awarded her second MASCAC Rookie of the Week award.

Team Impact’s Arianna Signs Lacrosse Letter of Intent

On Thursday, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy women’s lacrosse team added its newest member, Team IMPACT’s Arianna Gilmore. The Draft Day was sponsored by Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Arianna signed an official Letter of Intent before her family and friends, cheered on by more than one hundred Buccaneer athletes.

Mikayla Correia and Stephanie Hunt were celebrated on Senior Night by the Massachusetts Maritime Academy women?s lacrosse team, who commemorated them with an impressive 18-4 win. Seven records fell, with Hunt?s rookie goal-scoring record surpassed by Casey Sullivan, and Hunt breaking her own season mark for points.

Deely, Hunt’s Efforts Overcome in MASCAC Loss

Massachusetts Maritime Academy hung tough against a physical Bridgewater State University women’s lacrosse team, but ultimately ran out of both gas and opportunities in a 16-6 MASCAC loss. Rookie Anna Deely scored four points and Stephanie Hunt dished off four assists on a cold and windy night.

Westfield State left Clean Harbors Stadium leaving no doubt that they are the top team in the MASCAC, but the Massachusetts Maritime Academy women’s lacrosse team gave on of their top performances of the year in a 17-4 loss.

Deely Sets Groundball Mark, Three Bucs with First Goal

Ten different Buccaneers scored and Mikayla Houlihan, Caitlin Townsend, and Hannah Mannai all scored their first career goals for Massachusetts Maritime Academy as it romped over visiting Dean College 17-1. Stephanie Hunt collected seven points and Anna Deely broke the freshman groundball record as women’s lacrosse improved to 5-5, tying the mark for most wins in a season.

Sullivan Nets Another Five Markers in MASCAC Loss

Casey Sullivan continued her red-hot streak with five goals, while recent Division-III Week Athlete of the Day Stephanie Hunt added five helpers, but Massachusetts Maritime Academy took a tough 15-6 loss in women’s lacrosse. The decision dropped the Buccaneers to 0-2 in the MASCAC, the third loss in-a-row for the squad.

Focused Hunt Setting Records, Setting Up Career

To say that Stephanie Hunt is the best women’s lacrosse player in Massachusetts Maritime Academy history is an understatement. Yet there is far more to the multiple record-holder than goals and assists and the Brookfield, Conn. resident has taken full advantage of attending a regimental NCAA Division-III university.

Sullivan Caps Superb Week with Conference Award

Casey Sullivan is the latest first-year women’s lacrosse player to emerge and was tabbed the MASCAC’s Rookie of the Week after a 15-goal week. Sullivan’s award is the second straight for Massachusetts Maritime Academy women’s lacrosse, which had Anna Deely honored a week prior.

When one talks to Anna Deely off the field, the youngie comes across as a pleasant, friendly young women with an easygoing demeanour. Her opponents in soccer and lacrosse will have an entirely different opinion. Honored last week as MASCAC’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week, Deely is Monday’s D-III Women’s Athlete of the Day.
