Poh Records Trio Of Top Eight Performances To Pace Outdoor Track & Field At UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. -- Junior Zachary Poh (Bridgewater, Mass.) recorded three top eight performances to pace the Massachusetts Maritime outdoor track & field team in action on Saturday afternoon at the UMass Dartmouth Corsair Classic.

Poh finished fourth in the shot put (11.19 meters), sixth in the discus (40.04 meters) and eighth in the hammer throw (39.31 meters) in leading the Buccaneers to a 15^th place team finish in the competition. Junior Sam Hill (Hopkinton, N.H.) added a 10^th place performance in the 400 meter high hurdles (1:01.96) for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received an 11^th place finish in the triple jump (11.19 meters) from senior Ted Mello (Acushnet, Mass.). The Buccaneer 4 x 100 (45.76) and 4 x 400 (3:46.23) meter relay squads posted respective 11^th and 12^th place performances as well on the day.

Freshman Meaghan Brain (Hanson, Mass.) posted her second straight eighth place finish in the javelin with a mark of 31.47 meters for Massachusetts Maritime, which also received an 18^th place performance from junior Danielle Soar (Templeton, Mass.) in the hammer throw (31.47 meters).

Massachusetts Maritime heads to Willimantic, Conn. on Friday afternoon to participate in the Eastern Connecticut Invitational that begins at 2:00 p.m.
