SMITHFIELD, R.I.-- Both Massachusetts Maritime outdoor track and field squads enjoyed solid performances at the non-scoring Bryant Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Freshman Chris Sullo (Canton, Mass.) led the way on the men's side for the Buccaneers, as he finished second only to Division I Rhode Island's Greg Dean in the high jump (1.83 meters) and seventh in the 110 meter hurdles (19.04 seconds). Sophomore Rory O'Donnell (Somerset, Mass.), last week's MASCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week, recorded another strong finish in the triple jump as well for Massachusetts Maritime, posting a mark of 12.60 meters that was good for third place in the event.

The Pembroke, Mass. freshmen duo John Prendergast and James Hutchinson placed 12th and 13th, respectively, in the shot put (10.16 meters) and javelin (46.08 meters), while fellow freshman Kevin Quinn (Barrington, R.I.) finished 18th in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.54 meters.

Sophomore Meredith Hall (Duxbury, Mass.) led the way once again on the women's side for the Buccaneers, as she qualified for the New England Championships after placing 17th in the javelin with a mark of 31.61 meters.

Both Massachusetts Maritime squads return to action next Saturday morning by heading to Fitchburg, Mass. to participate in the Fitchburg State Jim Sheehan Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m.
