Bio

Will became the head of Maritime softball ahead of the 202 season and was named the 2023 MASCAC softball coach of the year in his fourth season. Will was recognized for this award after coaching his team to a program win record of 17 wins and securing the sixth seed in the MASCAC playoffs. The playoff birth was the first in program history. Along with this award he also had two players that were named to the NFCA All Regional 2 second and third teams. One of those players was also named as the MASCAC Softball player of the year and Rookie player of the year. Will entered his first season as a Buccaneer softball coach in 2019-2020 after spending three seasons as an assistant softball coach at Bridgewater State. 

A native of Zanesville, Ohio, and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran (SGT), Will earned aMaster of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Western NewEngland University in 2002. He also has a Master of Science Degree in SportsLeadership from Endicott College (2021). 

From 1987 to 1990, Will competed on the U.S. Marine Corps football team at Camp Pendleton in California. He also played and coached five seasons of semi-professional football from 2009 to 2013 with the two-time Eastern Football League (EFL) champion Taunton Gladiators. During that time Will was the Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Gladiators.

Will is the former president for the Town of Bridgewater Girls Recreation/Travel Softball program. He has held several roles in this program for over 13 years. Will holds an ACE Level 4 Certification through the Amateur Softball Association of America. Will is also a current Ethics Board Committee member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. Will is also holding the Vice Chair position for the MASCAC softball conference. 

In 2022 Will was selected to coach a USA U19 team with AIST in Italy where they went undefeated playing from Rome up to Milan. The team played in a local tournament where they beat the Italians National Team and ended up with it’s only loss in the championship game against another USA U19 team which they previously had beaten.  In the summer of 2023 Will was asked again to coach another USA U19 AIST team to play in France, Belgium, Amsterdam and the Dominican Republic. After winning all four games in Europe, Will’s team suffered 3 losses and a tie in the Dominican Republic. After Returning from the Dominican Republic Will along with 29 other college coaches across the United States was asked to Coach Clinics in Anchorage for their youth softball program.

Will is a retired Sergeant with the Bridgewater Police Department and is an Adjunct Professor at Massasoit Community College teaching Criminal Justice and Homeland Security courses.
