Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.
Five Student-Athletes Named to MASCAC Sportsmanship Teams

Five Massachusetts Maritime Academy players have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring Sportsmanship Teams. Nathan Anderson, Mikayla Correia, Joe Eastman, Michelle Sheehan, and Emily Bacciocchi all took home the prestigious honor.
Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.
Corazzini Dubbed to All-MASCAC Second Team

Fresh off its Team IMPACT Draft Day yesterday, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s softball team added another season highlight as Jill Corazzini was named to the All-Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Second Team.

Softball Season Ends with Doubleheader Loss to Worcester

The Worcester State University Lancer softball team, which sits at the top of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference standings with a 12-2 record, swept both ends of a regular season ending double header from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Buccaneers Saturday at Alison Rollins Field in Buzzards Bay. The Lancers took the opening contest behind a one-hit pitching performance by senior Dakota Smith-Porter (Montague, Mass.) by a score of 15-0 in five innings. Worcester State claimed the nightcap in six innings by a score of 10-2.
Gardner a Bright Spot in Bridgewater Losses

After a run of excellent play, the Buccaneers’ torrid softball bats were quieted by Bridgewater State University in a 5-0, 17-1 MASCAC sweep. The Bears allowed Massachusetts Maritime Academy only seven hits and hung two crooked numbers in the game two romp. Rachel Gardner reached base in four of her eight plate appearances to lead the Bucs.
Maritime Loses Extra-Inning Thriller in Curry Sweep

Fresh off their first MASCAC victory in 13 years, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team got off to a great start against Curry College scoring first and rallying four times as the game went on, but dropped an extra-inning 9-8 thriller in game one. In the nightcap, the Colonels used put up two crooked numbers in a 10-2 victory.
Nalette Tosses Shutout for Bucs' First MASCAC Win

After a long dry spell in conference play it took the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team just one hour and seven minutes to get into the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference win column with a 6-0 victory in game one of a double header over Westfield State University. The WSU Owls bounced back in the second game to claim a 13-0 victory.
Rams Overcome Murphy’s Fleet Feet, Cochrane’s Arm

Framingham State used a pair of big innings in both ends of a doubleheader to claim a MASCAC sweep on a cool Tuesday afternoon. Melissa Cochrane was unhittable in the early innings of game one and a Buccaneer comeback in the fifth gave Massachusetts Maritime Academy a chance to upset the Rams, but a big fifth inning continued into a high-scoring second game and 11-3, 8-0 results.
Packard Pitches UMaine-Presque Isle Past MMA In Doubleheader Sweep

University of Maine-Presque Isle senior pitcher Sara Packard picked up both ends of a Sunday doubleheader at Alison Rollins Field as the visiting Owls slipped past the Massachusetts Maritime Buccaneers in the early game by a score of 7-6 before closing out their trip to Buzzards Bay with a 7-1 victory in the second contest of the twinbill.
Softball Bats Stay Hot, MCLA Hotter in Sweep

Despite continuing to mount a strong offensive attack, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team suffered a heart-breaking doubleheader sweep on its home opener at Rollins Field. On a very windy afternoon, MCLA claimed the first game 9-3 and followed with a 10-5 victory.
Cochrane Dominates Pine Manor, Thomas Homers

Carli Thomas hit the Buccaneers’ first home run and Melissa Cochrane had seven hits as the Massachusetts Maritime Academy softball team blasted Pine Manor College, 17-0 and 12-0. After putting together a solid offensive attack in yesterday’s loss to Becker, the bats broke out for 45 hits in the doubleheader, including a likely record-breaking 26 in game one.

Kaylene Murphy, one of our NCAA D-III Athletes of the Week, broke up a no-hitter in game one with a double and Madison Ovadek had a pair of hits in the nightcap as the Buccaneers lost 15-0 and 10-1
Softball Sets Season-High in Runs in Loss

With the Academy’s softball field only just recovering from the four March nor’easters, Mass Maritime’s softball squad has been forced into late action. With only two doubleheaders under their belts, the Buccaneers started MASCAC play today and ran into a hot-hitting Fitchburg State University team, dropping the doubleheader 14-0 and 7-3.
