Buccaneers Place Second at Prestigious Kennedy Cup in Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, MD. - The Massachusetts Maritime Academy offshore sailing team placed second out of 10 teams at the Kennedy Cup, held November 4-5, 2017, on the Chesapeake Bay. The Kennedy Cup, named for President Kennedy, is the sought after prize for the National Collegiate Large Yacht Championship.  Defending champions, Univeristy of South Florida won the Kennedy Cup with the low score of 14 points. Mass Maritime was second with 19 points and Navy finished third with 23.

The Buccaneers' crew consisted of:  Evan Bowen, Taylor Winkler, McKenna Jarvis, Matthew Schaefer, Bogdan Shcherbyna, Colin English, Christopher Dawson, and Frank Reeg.
