CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team posted a solid third place finish in blustery and chilly conditions on the Charles River in the 12-team MIT Crews Regatta on Sunday afternoon, as the event involved crews who had not yet skippered during the course of the season to date.

Juniors Sergio Gratta (Sarasota, Fla.) and Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.), along with sophomore Braden Foster (Trumbull, Conn.), comprised the Buccaneer “A” boast, while freshman Megan Laurie (North Weymouth, Mass.) skippered Massachusetts Maritime’s “B” vessel with freshman Alex Bowen (North Kingstown, R.I.).  Brown took the top spot in the competition with 20 points, while Boston University followed in the runner-up spot with 23 points to finish ahead of both the Buccaneers and Tufts.

Massachusetts Maritime closes out its fall dinghy slate next weekend by heading to Annapolis, Md. to compete in the two-day Navy Atlantic Coast Tournament.
