CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team overcame strong and shifting wind conditions throughout the weekend to record a 12th place overall finish at the MIT Oberg Trophy hosted by Northeastern on the Charles River.

Freshmen Frank Reeg (Spring Lake, Mich.) and Matthew Schaefer (Stratford, Conn.) comprised the Buccaneer “A” boat in the competition, while sophomores Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.), Sergio Gratta (Sarasota, Fla.) and Molly Cormican (South Weymouth, Mass.) sailed in the “B” vessel.  Boston College took top honors in the regatta, while Roger Williams and Bowdoin finished in the respective runner-up and third place positions.  Massachusetts Maritime topped Northeastern, Salve Regina and New Hampshire in the final standings.

The Buccaneers will host the O’Toole Trophy Regatta next Sunday morning at the Keith Hartford Sailing Center beginning at 9:30 a.m., and Massachusetts Maritime will also compete in events hosted by Boston University and Sacred Heart next weekend.
