ENFIELD, N.H.--  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team overcame less than perfect conditions throughout the weekend to post a 13th place finish in competition at the Dartmouth Hewitt Trophy that took place on Lake Mascoma.

Junior Emily Casella (Little Egg Harbor, N.J.) and freshman Frank Reeg (Spring Lake, Mich.) comprised the Buccaneer “A” entry during the weekend, while juniors Kyle Brego (St. John, Virgin Islands) and Evan Sampou (West Newbury, Mass.) sailed in the “B” vessel.  Sophomores Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.) and Sergio Gratta (Sarasota, Fla.) served as Massachusetts Maritime’s crew in the “C” entry, as Casella and Reeg paced the Buccaneer scoring in the competition, posting a pair of second place finishes to go with a fourth place performance that added up to a final sixth place standing in the A division, while Brego and Sampou also recorded a pair of second place finishes.  Adam and Gratta recorded three top five finishes overall on the weekend in constantly shifting and erratic winds.

Massachusetts Maritime will compete in the prestigious Storm Trysail Regatta next weekend on Long Island Sound.
