CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team recorded a sixth place overall finish in competition at the Boston University Central Series Two Regatta on the Charles River Saturday afternoon, as the Buccaneers topped Roger Williams, Rhode Island and Northeastern in the final standings.

Freshman Frank Reeg (Spring Lake, Mich.) and Braden Foster (Trumbull, Conn.), along with junior Ryan Novak-Smith (Johnston, R.I.), comprised the Buccaneer “A” tandem during the day, while junior George Luber (North Redington Beach, Fla.) and sophomore Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.) sailed in Massachusetts Maritime’s “B” vessel along with junior Christopher Mannka (Uxbridge, Mass.).  Both squads posted several first place finishes early on in the competition, as the winds strengthened and shifted in the afternoon races to create some difficult conditions.

Brown took top team honors on the day, while Connecticut College and host Boston University followed in the respective runner-up and third place spots.

The Buccaneers will be in action next weekend in hosting the Great Herring Pond Open at the Keith Hartford Sailing Center as well as competing at the Coast Guard Keelboat Invitational.
