Dinghy Sailing Overcomes Early Snow & Wind Conditions To Place Sixth At Sacred Heart Southern Series One Regatta

FAIRFIELD, Conn. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team overcame snowy and wind-swept conditions early on to place sixth among 13 teams competing at the Sacred Heart Southern Series One Regatta over the weekend.

 

Freshmen Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.) and Sergio Gratta (Sarasota, Fla.) comprised the Buccaneer “A” boat in the competition, while fellow freshmen Alexander Calderwood (Brewster, Mass.) and Cassandra Kolstad (Madison, Conn.) were in the Buccaneer “B” vessel for the weekend.  Adam and Gratta posted consistent top half performances with their best finish being fourth place, while Calderwood and Kolstad finished in the mid-fleet throughout the event with their top performance coming in sixth place.

 

Massachusetts Maritime will host the Great Herring Pond Open over Easter weekend at the Keith Hartford Sailing Center in Bourne beginning at 9:30 a.m.
