Dinghy Sailing Posts 11th Place Overall Finish Over Weekend at Northeastern Oberg Trophy

BOSTON, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime dinghy sailing team posted a solid 11th place finish over the weekend at the Northeastern Oberg Trophy, as six Buccaneers competed in three separate divisions during the two-day event.

 

Massachusetts Maritime’s “A” tandem consisted of sophomore Matthew Woodward (Middleboro, Mass.) and freshman Jeffrey Adam (Newport, R.I.), while the “B” boat was comprised of Chris Dawson and freshman Cassandra Kolstad (Madison, Conn.).  The Buccaneer “C” entry featured sophomore George Luber (North Reddington Beach, Fla.) and freshman Molly Cormican (South Weymouth, Mass.), as all three divisions sailed a total of 13 races.  In steady winds throughout the weekend, Massachusetts Maritime recorded a win in the “A” division while recording four top five finishes combined.

 

The Buccaneers will compete next weekend at the Sacred Heart Priddy Trophy as well as the New Hampshire O’Toole Trophy.
