Men’s Cross Country Finishes Sixth at MASCAC Championships

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass – The Buccaneer men's cross country team took part in the MASCAC cross country championships hosted by MCLA this past Saturday. With a tough field in conference, the team finished in sixth out of seven participating schools.

The Buccaneer's top runner on the day, Kyle Hansen (North Chelmsford, Mass) finished in 50th place overall, 32nd in scoring, with a time of 32:18.13. Alex Imperillo (Chelmsford, Mass) finished just a few spots behind Hansen in terms of scoring, in 34th, with a final time of 32:41.09. Just over a minute later, junior Daniel Plumb (Hopkinton, Mass) finished in 35th place at 32:42.20. The Bucs finished with a team time of 2:47:45.17 in the 8k race, taking sixth place, just ahead of host MCLA who finished 17 minutes of total time behind the Academy.

Fitchburg State took the overall men's title with a team time of 2:22:38.34 but Bridgewater State's Trevor Wysong took the individual crown with a time of 27:17.22, nearly 10 seconds faster than the second place finisher.

The Buccaneers will compete in the NCAA New England Division III Cross Country Championship hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday November 10th in Brunswick, Maine.
