NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. --  The Massachusetts Maritime men's cross country team placed 23^rd of 37 teams competing at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational Saturday afternoon, as the Buccaneers posted a team score of 700 points while placing 17^th among Division III entrants and third among MASCAC competitors.

Junior Patrick Dannaher (Arlington, Va.) was the top individual performer for Massachusetts Maritime, as he covered the five mile layout in a time of 26:56 that was good for 90^th place.  Junior Paul Matz (Plainville, Mass.) was next in 142^nd place with a time of 27:55, while the trio of freshmen Aram Mulhern (Taunton, Mass.) and Chad McCarthy (Sutton, Mass.), along with senior Matt Sturgis (Cummaquid, Mass.), finished 165^th, 166^th and 167^th, respectively, for the Buccaneers with times of 28:42, 28:43 and 28:44 on the day.

Keene State took top team honors with a score of 68 points, while Stonehill (96 points) and Southern Maine (107 points) finished in second and third place, respectively.

Massachusetts Maritime travels to New London, Conn. next Saturday morning to compete at the Connecticut College Invitational that begins at 10:00 a.m.
